We are thrilled to have been given a hugely generous donation from Special Orthotic Services in the form of 2 very colourful and stylish ‘P’Pods.
The ‘P’ Pod has been designed and developed by SOS as a simple yet effective postural support for use by disabled children when indoors in the home or day care environment, the unique patented design of the ‘P’ Pod combines a symmetrical or custom moulded support within the simplicity of a conventional Bean Bag base.
Integration of specialised equipment into the home environment can be difficult due to limitations on space and access issues, the ‘P’ Pod Seat from SOS gives high levels of postural support and accommodation for easy use around the home environment.
Bean Bags have been accepted as an comfortable form of seating in the home and although used for many years as a support device have been criticised for their lack of postural stability when used with the disabled. The ‘P’ Pod addresses this problem by introducing a “Postural Support” into the bean bag principle. This support provides the support and stability required to maintain postural control during use. The Patented design of the ‘P’ Pod introduces a simple yet effective approach and the position of the client is easily changed when necessary.
Being very lightweight and available in a range of materials, the ‘P’ Pod offers an aesthetic, easy to move around the home, simple approach to providing a versatile seat support system for use in the home and are easily stowed in the family car to make themselves easily movable from place to place with ease.
Although not suitable to sit in during transportation the ‘P’ Pod can easily be stowed in the family vehicle and therefore makes a convenient mobile option for families when visiting friends and relatives. Having arrived at your destination removing the ‘P’ Pod from the vehicle and setting it up to use again takes literally minutes.
The ‘P’ Pod are available in two options to suit the individual client needs:
STANDARD
These standard ‘P’ Pods can be supplied in six different sizes, which all of them are CE marked and are ideal for clients who would normally use Modular Seating rather than Custom Moulded Seating.
CUSTOM MOULDED
Custom ‘P’ Pods are ideal for clients who need that extra support and require a more defined shape due to their disability. Custom ‘P’ Pods are moulded to the shape of the client in the same way as our “Custom Moulded Seats”
