May 2011 Newsletter

On Monday 25th April 38 children took part in a sponsored Easter walk at Chester-Le-Street Riverside Park to raise money for Heel & Toe.

All of the children and parents did a fantastic job and everyone received an Easter egg, a snack pack, a certificate and a trophy for their hard work.

With everyone’s help and participation we have raised a little over £1,700  so thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you at future events.

Luke Walker made his first artistic performance on Sat 14th May at Sainsburys Bishop Auckland. Luke, 25 from Hartlepool attends Heel & Toe for Conductive Education to help with his Cerebral Palsy. He is an avid fundraiser and a whizz at painting abstract so the team at Sainsburys invited Luke to paint in the foyer and show some of his artwork off. Unlike any other artist Luke’s method of painting is by using a paintbrush attached to his  baseball cap which his mum and dad designed.

Following Luke’s appearance he hit the headlines in the Sunday Sun and then on Tyne Tees News.

We are so proud of Luke and will support him anyway we can to help get his artwork recognised. If you know anyone who could help get Luke’s paintings shown professionally call Jane on  08443350512 or email  jane@heelandtoe.org.uk
