Beginnings
In the summer of 2008 an organisation charging children for providing Conductive Education decided to move away from Spennymoor, County Durham.
Parents of children who attended sessions at the organisation understood the importance of continuing therapy for their children and following a mapping exercise found out no other charity existed in the North East Region offering this essential therapy.
Therefore in June 2008 a decision was made by a small group of parents to setup their own charity and to help as many children as possible.
However with one vital importance ‘That No Child Should Be Denied Therapy Due To A Lack Of Money’
Therefore Heel & Toe Children’s Charity was established in June 2008. The ‘Not for Profit’ organisation was granted charity status on the 4th September 2008 and opened the centre on the 4th October 2008, offering FREE Conductive Education Therapy for any child with cerebral palsy.
The charity opened its doors in October 2008 with 4 children. (click Meadows School to read more…..)
