Meadows School
Heel & Toe Children’s Charity rented two classrooms from Durham Local Education Authority at The Meadows School, based in Spennymoor,County Durham.
The charity paid for alterations to be made to, two portacabins they rented at the rear of the school;

- Small Office
- Limited Parking
- Disabled Access
The Trustees conducted a survey, followed by a local consultation and were overwhelmed at the response for the need for Conductive Education. The survey also highlighted the lack of therapy in County Durham.
From its humble beginnings the charity commenced sessions over 5 days a week, employing only one Conductor. The charity forged links with local organisations, community groups and charities and the word soon spread of a charity helping children with cerebral palsy.
By the end of the charity’s first year, late 2009 the numbers of children had increased to the point of employing an additional Conductor.
Early 2010 saw the demand on the service continue to grow, to the point the charity needed more space. However the Meadows School could not offer any further classrooms, therefore the Trustees made the decision to look for larger premises to accommodate the demand for sessions.
