Dyspraxia

We offer sessions for children over three two hour sessions each week. Whilst every child is different there are certain basic skills which they must acquire in order to develop the more complex skills required for adult life.

Conductive Education helps children with dyspraxia as it brings together all aspects of development – movement, emotional, social and cognitive. The use of language together with movement helps to increase the child’s language skills as well.

General aims of the sessions include;

1. Increasing concentration and confidence

2. Developing body awareness and lateralisation

3. Improving strength and control of movement

4. Developing an appropriate range and pace of movements

5. Improving balance and co-ordination

6. Ability to use stabilising movements to increase control

7. Improving fine motor skills

8. Developing social skills

Sessions are run in small groups and are structures according to age and individual needs. First half of the session concentrates on improving Gross Motor skills through various activities and routines and second half develops Fine Motor skills.
