Dyspraxia Groups
Dyspraxia Sessions
These sessions are aimed at children from the ages of 5 years old and upwards. Various groups are available, depending upon child’s age and ability.
Children can receive One-on-One specialist academic help from our Dyspraxia Tutor. These sessions range from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Our tutor will work on specific needs for every age range following National Curriculum guidelines, including handwriting, mathematics, and reading.
Many mixed methods will be used to stimulate and maximise every child. Computer software, using latest versions available, hand writing and paper based tools.
If children require assistance on their Gross Motor skills the session is split into two parts where children receive academic support and group skills.
Groups are offered for children attending mainstream primary and secondary schools, as well as children attending special needs schools.
Aims
The sessions aim to:
- Helps to promote your child’s mobility, independence, social, self-esteem and daily living skills.
- Improving child’s academic ability.
- Provide a safe and happy environment to enable your child to enjoy their learning experience.
- Help parents, carers and families in understanding their child’s individual needs and ability.
- Provide a broad and balanced curriculum at appropriate level within a Conductive Education framework.
- Liaise with other professionals, schools and LEA.
- Promote both physical and cognitive skills.
- Advanced Mobility Groups for children walking independently.
Attendance
The sessions are available from 4pm to 6pm Monday to Friday and all day Saturday’s.
